This summer “Kurk Kurk” team went to the “Sunny Nights Festival“. This was our forth time and it is now a tradition for us to come here at the end of every summer. In 2014 “Sunny Nights” was the first festival that we attended as creative team. Back then we were just a group of students who shared a common interest in graphic art. We didn’t have a brand name or a clear image of our future, but we all wanted to share our knowledge with other people.

The story of „Kurk Kurk“

Over time, we have found more opportunities to make educational workshops in various events and decided that our team needs a formal name. Thus, after a few meetings and discussions, in 2016, our brand “Kurk Kurk” was born.

Creative workshop in the Sunny Nights festival

In August of this year we traveled to a gathering of good people called “Sunny Nights“. This year’s festival was special because we also invited the “Open Photography Workshops” to join “Kurk Kurk“. Together we educated the festival participants not only in graphic art but also in old photography techniques.

This festival is special because “every participant is at the same time an organizer. Many of the festival’s art spaces, performances, installations, etudes are designed and implemented by festival volunteers and participants. ”* It is nice to enjoy a great feeling of fellowship with other participants and share experiences together.

Every participant is at the same time an organizer. Many of the festival’s art spaces, performances, installations, etudes are designed and implemented by festival volunteers and participants.

Our workshop was open on Friday and on Saturday. During that time, we received a great deal of interest and desire to participate, explore and learn. Over the course of two days we developed over a hundred photos, bound many notebooks with the participants and made many prints from pre-made linocuts.

We are thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the festival, where participants can gain new experiences and become inspired. We hope that everyone who attended the festival and our workshops brought only the best emotions and memories. We are thankful for the organizers for giving us this opportunity. We had a wonderful time and we are looking forward to seeing you next year!
